InkSeine: Inlined Ink Written Web Search Tool
October 10, 2007
I always found the ability to perform web search by highlighting key words on the web browser to be essential. This feature is a nifty time saver, which allows me to execute on my query and bypass the search engine landing page.
Ken Hinckley from Microsoft Research inked this idea to the next level. InkSeine is a prototype inking application that offers the unique ability to search for stuff directly from ink, without transcribing queries to a search box somewhere else.
Imagine a scenario if you are taking notes with your Tablet PC which involves a new word. You can use InkSeine to select word from your current document/ window and your search result appears on a following window. Fantastic!
