Use gMail account as portable hard drive
June 27, 2007I recently came across a wonderful program for Mac OS X. It is known as gDisk and it basically turns your gmail account into a portable hard drive. The program is provided as open-source freeware and works quite well. Once it is installed you run it and login to your gmail account through the program. After that, you just set up your categories and begin to upload files to their respective categories that you create. All of your files stay organized and easy-to-find. (Click screenshot for larger view) gDisk is only available for Mac OS X right now but there are several other options out there for Windows users, such as XmailHardDrive and the gMail drive shell extension. All of these options are worth a look and all are currently free of charge.
