Well, it is an igneous rock that is made of various alkali materials such as feldspar and quartz, and it s formed on the Earth’s surface. Granite is a crystalline rock found across the globe in great heaps referred to as batholiths. The batholiths of granite can stretch for thousands of miles. Granite slabs are a popular material for countertop designs, but they are also popular in monuments and other structures that are meant to last for generations. This is because it is one of the most durable materials that is found in abundance on the Earth’s surface. A granite countertop will more than likely consist of potash, feldspar and quartz. The color of the granite countertop varies from gray to red, which is usually determined by the amount of the potash and feldspar.
